What I can help with

Five kinds of problems, one engineer on the call. Every session is advice: your own trained people carry out the work on the robot.

  • S-01

    Alarms and faults

Remote troubleshooting of controller alarms, servo and encoder errors, collision stops and intermittent faults. We go through the alarm history together and narrow down the cause.

  • S-02

    HRSS updates and backups

Guided controller software updates and backups: check versions, make a complete backup first, then go step by step with your technician. You use software obtained through official HIWIN channels; I guide the procedure.

  • S-03

    Robot programs (HRL)

New programs written to your requirements, and reviews of existing ones: shorter cycle times, cleaner logic, clearer I/O handshakes. Program writing is quoted after the first call.

  • S-04

    Repair consulting

Pinpoint the faulty part (reducer, motor, encoder, cable or harness), work out exactly what to order and where, then guide your maintenance team through the replacement.

  • S-05

    Older robots and controllers

Help with older HIWIN robots and controllers that still run production, where documentation is scattered and first-hand experience is hard to find.

  • S-??

    Not sure it fits?

Email a short description of the problem and the robot model. You'll get an honest answer on whether a call is likely to help, before you pay anything.

02Process

How it works

  1. Book and pay

Pick a slot in the calendar. The €59 fee is paid at booking through PayPal, which also accepts cards.

  2. Prepare

Gather the robot model and serial, controller, HRSS version, the exact alarm text and a program backup.

  3. Call

We meet on a video call. You share the screen of a PC connected to the controller, with a trained person at the cell.

  4. Next steps

We finish with findings and next actions. If more work is needed, you get a separate quote first.

04About

Who you'll talk to

I'm Giovanni Ventilii, Gio for short: an Italian mechatronics engineer with six years in industrial robotics. I started as a software developer, moved on to application engineering and then business development, and along the way worked hands-on with HIWIN robots, controllers and HRSS.

Today I work as an independent consultant and split my time between Taiwan and Italy. Between the two time zones, calls can usually be booked within working hours whether you are in Europe, the Americas or Asia.

06FAQ

Frequently asked

How much does it cost?

€59 for a 30-minute remote video consultation, paid when you book. Follow-up work, such as writing a new robot program, is quoted separately and only starts once you accept the quote.

What if 30 minutes isn't enough?

Many problems can be narrowed down in one session if the information on the preparation checklist is ready. If more time is needed, at the end of the call we agree on a second session or a written quote for the remaining work. Nothing extra is charged without your agreement.

Is this an official HIWIN service?

No. Gio Robotics is the service of an independent engineer, Giovanni Ventilii. It is not affiliated with, endorsed or authorized by HIWIN Technologies Corp. HIWIN is a trademark of its owner. For warranty repairs or official service, contact your HIWIN supplier or local HIWIN office.

Will you move my robot remotely?

The service is advice only: your trained personnel carry out every action and remain responsible for safety at the cell. There is no remote robot motion unless a qualified person is on site at the cell, holding the enabling device, with safeguarding in place.
